Blue Ringed Octopuses are one of the most toxic animals in the ocean even though they are the size of a golf ball. The Blue Ringed Octopus has two types of toxins, defense venom and attack venom. One milligram of its toxic defense venom can kill a human. This octopus will eat crabs, sea snails, and injured fish. This octopus will wait at the ocean floor camouflaged, for prey, like a crab, to pass and then it will then jump out and use its attack venom, which is not lethal to humans, but it can paralyze crabs. Once the crab is paralyzed the Blue Ringed Octopus will then eat it. These octopuses live in reefs in Australia, New Guinea, Indonesia, Philippines and Japan.
Jimmy and Peter`s Predator Blog will show the awesome predators of the animal world including Mammals, Reptiles and Amphibians, Birds, Fish, and invertebrates. If you like animals you will love this Blog!
