Grizzly Bears

Grizzly Bears are called Grizzly bears because of their grizzled fur.  These bears have big heads and powerful jaws to crush their prey's bones.  The males are called boars because they are bigger and stronger than the females which are called sows.  Grizzly Bears can grow 6-8 feet long and weigh 400-500 pounds.  Each Grizzly has a different way of hunting. For instance, some claw the fish out of the water and some wait until the salmon jump out of the water.  The Grizzly with then grab the salmon with its teeth and eat it. The boar will always have the better fishing spot than the sow.  When hibernation comes the Grizzly will prepare by eating a lot and will store 6-10 inches of fat under their hides to keep them warm.
