Peregrine Falcon

Peregrine Falcons are the fastest animal on earth with diving speeds of  200 mph.   That's faster than a car!  Peregrine Falcons hunt smaller birds.   Peregrine falcons can be all over the world except Antarctica.   It`s way  to cold for them.

The female Peregrine falcons are bigger and stronger than the males.  The females are the ones that hunt for prey.    The males can`t do the incredible dive,  but the males still look like falcons.   The Peregrine Falcon's hunting strategy is to dive down at the small bird and then grip the bird with its sharp talons.  It then keeps diving down strait towards the ground and drops the bird.    The small bird is dead and the Peregrine Falcon swoops in, grabs it and brings it back to its nest to feast on.  The Peregrine Falcon is a fierce predator!

  1. Hello young cousins. I'm going to have my guys read your stuff - it's great! Would you mind doing a post at some point about red-tailed hawks? We have one living on top of our building (19 stories up in the Bronx!) and it'd be interesting to learn more about it. Your cousin Marilyn has named it Bubbles. OK keep writing!
