Komodo Dragons

Komodo Dragons are the biggest lizards on earth because of their mammoth size.  The biggest Komodo Dragon ever found was 10 ft long.   That's pretty big for a lizard!  Komodo Dragons' natural habitats are on the Sunda islands of Asia.   It may seem like a strong predator but the Komodo Dragon's bite is as weak as a house cat's bite but it can kill you.  Not the venom but the bacteria. Lots and lots of bacteria.    The Komodo Dragon's saliva is filed with very dangerous bacteria that can kill humans and other animals.  These dragons will eat anything they can find on the island, like deer, water buffalo, smaller dragons, and sometimes humans.  Komodo Dragons hunt by camouflaging in a bush and then when prey walks by it ambushes it, then bites it using its saliva, then waits until the prey is dead to eats it.

  1. This is the best one yet. It's packed with information and who doesn't like reading about Komodo Dragons? And by the way, nice job with the apostrophes, guys. (What can I say? I used to be Jimmy's teacher!)

  2. Very interesting! Can you write about foxes? We have a den in the back of our house and have had a few fox sightings lately.
    Thanks,
